MV Agusta is, by all means, an aspirational brand in the Philippine big bike market. The brand captures the hearts of motorcycle enthusiasts with its iconic designs and high-performance machines. Distributed by Motostrada, the same company behind the wildly popular CFMOTO, MV Agusta enjoys a strong presence in the country.

MV Agusta’s tagline is “Motorcycle Art,” and indeed, it crafts bikes designed to stand out. The new Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro is no exception. As the more opulent sibling of the Superveloce 800, it’s a true sculpture on wheels, exuding a blend of sophistication and performance.

First unveiled at EICMA 2022, the Serie Oro is now ready for release. Limited to just 500 units, it’s destined to be a collector’s dream, with a price tag of £61,400 in the UK (around P4.6 million). Given this hefty price tag, you may be wondering: what makes it so special?

Well, beneath the fairings, the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro boasts the same potent underpinnings as the Rush 1000 and Brutale 1000 series. It’s powered by a 998cc inline-four engine delivering 208 horsepower and 116 Nm of torque, enhanced by titanium valves, forged titanium connecting rods, and DLC-coated cams for consistent performance.

Its advanced electronics suite includes eight levels of traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control, and rear-wheel lift control. Riders can choose from four ride modes: Rain, Sport, Race, and Custom, all accessible through a 5.5-inch full-color TFT display with integrated GPS and MV Ride app integration. Additional features include an up and down quickshifter, cruise control, and a Mobisat satellite alarm.

The bike’s foundation is equally impressive, featuring a trellis frame of high-strength steel tubes and aluminum plates, a single-sided aluminum swingarm, and fully adjustable Öhlins suspension. Brembo Stylema calipers ensure top-notch braking performance.

Each of the 500 units will come with a laser-engraved plate and a dedicated kit, including a passenger seat, footpegs, heel guards, bike cover, CNC-machined brake and clutch levers, height-adjustable swingarm plates, and a certificate of authenticity.

The MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro is a masterpiece with a hefty price tag, likely to end up as a prized collector’s item rather than a track-day regular. Yet, with Motostrada’s solid grip on MV Agusta in the Philippines, there’s a good chance that this rare gem will be available locally.

Motostrada’s influence extends beyond just distribution; they have launched a variety of special editions of MV Agusta models in the Philippines. This makes it highly likely that the rare Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro will also grace our shores, offering a piece of exquisite Italian engineering to local collectors.
