Leica Launches New D-Lux 8 Compact Digital Camera

Leica has long been known for its high-quality hand-crafted cameras, and continues to add to its storied lineup with the latest generation in its D-Lux series. Announced today, the new Leica D-Lux 8 brings the coveted Leica camera experience in a more compact and accessible form.
The D-Lux 8 builds upon the previously-announced D-Lux 7 and was designed to provide an enhanced user experience with simplified ergonomic controls. Leica has also refined the user interface, inspired by its popular Q-Cameras series, to ensure further ease of use.

Internally, the D-Lux 8 boasts a 4/3″ CMOS sensor offering 21 MP (effective 17 MP) and is paired with the fast L DC Vario-Summilux 10.9–34 mm f/1.7–2.8 ASPH. lens (equivalent to 24-75 mm in the 35mm format). This powerful combination further ensures image quality and versatility. The camera also seamlessly connects with Leica’s FOTOS app, allowing for easy image sharing.


Alongside the camera, Leica introduces accessories to complement the D-Lux 8. Today’s announcement includes a hand grip, carrying straps, wrist straps, and leather protectors available in multiple colors. Other accessories, such as an automatic lens cap, soft release buttons, and bags (hip bag, crossbody bag, and equipment bag), give creators even more options.
