KTM unveils 1390 Super Duke R Evo, the biggest Super Duke yet

KTM’s Duke series captivates naked streetfighter enthusiasts with its blend of ultra-futuristic styling and top-tier performance, evident in models like the 390 Duke and the formidable 1290 Super Duke R, setting industry standards. The unveiling of the 1390 Super Duke R Evo, surpassing the acclaimed 1290 range, stirred anticipation as KTM’s new flagship hypernaked, promising heightened power, advanced tech, and amplified excitement among enthusiasts.

The Evo, positioned as a raw power and evolution in the naked segment, showcases sharper, more athletic styling than the 1290, featuring a restyled headlight that may spark initial debate but is anticipated to win over enthusiasts gradually. Its revamped structure prioritizes improved performance and aesthetics, embracing a lowered profile, a more compact chassis, and lightweight materials that maintain a 467-pound wet weight, unveiling its muscular frame and bold angular lines. Boasting an excessive power delivery, the 1390 Super Duke R Evo houses an updated 1,350cc LC8 engine, churning out a staggering 188 horsepower and 186 Nm of torque, complemented by an integrated cam shift to enhance efficiency.

Despite endeavors to reduce weight, the 212 kg wet weight stands four pounds heavier than its predecessor due to emissions and noise regulations. However, its handling is anticipated to shine through the inclusion of WP semi-active suspension and Michelin Power GP tires, ensuring impressive performance on the road.

In the US market, the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo commands a premium price of $21,499. Once introduced in the local market, this price is likely to escalate toward the P2,000,000 mark, reflecting its high-end status as a hypernaked bike.
