Kawasaki Motors Europe has just introduced the latest addition to their lineup, the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), marking an expansion of their renowned Ninja family. This announcement comes on the heels of the brand’s recent introduction of the Z e-1 and Ninja e-1, which represented Kawasaki’s inaugural foray into the world of production electric motorcycles.

The Ninja 7 HEV distinguishes itself by incorporating an innovative hybrid system. This hybrid marvel marries a 451cc parallel twin combustion engine with a 9-kilowatt traction motor and a 48-volt battery pack, showcasing a blend of traditional and electric power sources. Notably, it stands as one of the early examples of production hybrid motorcycles, hinting at a promising direction for the future of our beloved two-wheelers

The ingenious hybrid system of the Ninja 7 HEV yields an impressive combined power output of 43.5 kilowatts, with the added capability to unleash a boosted power of 51.1 kW through the e-Boost feature. Kawasaki takes pride in asserting that the Ninja 7 HEV closely mirrors the physical size and performance characteristics of a traditional 650cc to 700cc combustion motorcycle. This nomenclature choice, “Ninja 7,” serves to capture attention by highlighting its departure from conventional naming conventions while still retaining a sense of kinship.

The Ninja 7 HEV boasts a range of key features designed to enhance the riding experience. These features encompass an idle stop function, which conserves fuel by automatically shutting down the combustion engine when the bike is stationary. Additionally, it includes an Automatic Launch Position Finder that selects first gear when the bike is at a standstill, ensuring readiness for acceleration.

A handy Walk Mode offers a low-speed Reverse and Forward option, a feature initially introduced in the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja e-1 and Z e-1. Riders will also enjoy the convenience of a full-color TFT dash with a layout reminiscent of the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja e-1 and Z e-1. Furthermore, the bike offers three distinct ride modes: EV, Eco Hybrid, and Sport Hybrid, catering to various riding preferences. It simplifies gear shifting with push-button controls on the handlebar.

Regarding pricing and availability, specific details are yet to be disclosed, but the 2024 Ninja 7 HEV is anticipated to be accessible at UK dealerships starting in April 2024. However, further information is eagerly awaited concerning the bike’s introduction in other global markets.
