UPLB expanded its linkages with industry players in the agriculture sector with the signing of partnership agreements on June 6.
The Institute of Animal Science (IAS) under the College of Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS) formalized its partnership with Global Food Partners (GFP) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Executive Conference Room of the BM Gonzalez Hall.
GFP, an international supply-chain consultancy, partnered with IAS to conduct interdisciplinary researches and programs on cage-free egg production in the country.
UPLB also inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on internship opportunities with BASF Philippines, Inc. (BASF PH). Students taking up agriculture and agriculture-related courses can now complete their internship at BASF PH.
BASF PH is one of the leading suppliers of different types of chemicals in the Philippines. Its Agricultural Research Station, where field trials are conducted, is in Bay, Laguna.
The MOU and MOA were signed by Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. as the head of UPLB. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Elpidio M. Agbisit, Jr., dean of CAFS and Dr. Rommel C. Sulabo, director of IAS.
